J.J.GUTHRIE AWARD
The annual J.J.Guthrie Award will be held at the clubrooms on Friday 5 September, beginning with a Happy Hour from 6.30-7.30 pm. The Annual JJ Guthrie Award is for the best and fairest first grade player each season. Three independent observers each rate the best and fairest three players during every first grade game, with three points given to the most deserving player, two to the second, and one point for the remaining player.
The votes are placed in sealed envelopes and kept in the club safe until the JJ Guthrie Award night after the end of competition. During the night the envelopes are opened and the votes publicly counted. The player who gains the most votes overall wins the JJ Guthrie Award for the year. To qualify, players must be financial members and not have been sent off during the season.
The Award honours the memory of former club member John J. Guthrie who died of cancer in 1989.
CLUB AWARDS NIGHT
The annual club dinner and awards night will be held at the Beau Rivage Room, Gloucester Park, East Perth, from 6.30pm on Saturday 20 September. Buses to Burswood Casino will be supplied after the dinner. Tickets are $180.00 per couple and $95.00 single, and are available from the clubrooms for the next three Thursday nights only. Don't miss out on your chance to be part of a great night celebrating another top year with Perth's best rugby club.
