The club was lucky to secure the services of a British Peer for the occasion
The 2008 club season ended with a gala dinner and trophy presentation at Gloucester Park on Saturday night, the club celebrating three premierships won by the Under 18s, the Women and the Under 16s. It was successful year for other grades with both First Grade and Fifth Grade making the finals.
The evening was hosted with his usual panache by Jason "Legs" Bastaja, alias Lord Pennington-Hargreaves-Smithers of Farthingale, and ably masterminded by Shari Lovreta and Craig Freeman. President Jack Seymour chose the occasion to announce his retirement from the club's leading office and received a standing ovation in appreciation of his magnificent efforts at the helm, which have seen the club set new standards of professionalism both on and off the field.

Well deserved applause for retiring president Jack Seymour
The presentation of trophies proceeded during a dinner enjoyed by one of the largest crowds ever seen at a Perth-Bayswater trophy night, culminating with Cale McCort winning First Grade best forward, and best and fairest; Kerry Buist and Shari Lovreta sharing clubwoman of the year and Paul Dannefaerd winning clubman of the year.
