Perth-Bayswater maintained fourth position on the table with a bonus point 28-17 win over Rockingham first grade at Pat O'Hara Reserve on Saturday.
The game was not pretty rugby as Rockingham came to Morley with the sole intention of playing negative, spoiling rugby and bending every rule in the book to stay in the game and kill Perth's play. The referee failed to control Rockingham's illegal play and the game descended into a farce, but the home side did enough to stay in front despite having two tries disallowed. Perth-Bayswater led 17-3 at half time with the highlight being flyhalf Toby Hohapata's diving try following a huge sidestep and a 40 metre sprint. The black scrum dominated but the team is failing to put sides away with the ruthless attitude of a genuine premiership contender. Flanker Cameron Stonely was outstanding and prop Zac Letufaga is improving into a first class performer.
Tries were scored by number 8 Pierre Roberts (2) and wing Nathan Hunt while halfback Toby Hohapata added a try, a conversion and two penalties.

In other games, seconds lost to Rockingham 19-15, thirds and fourths had a bye, under 20s defeated Joondalup 25-0, under 18s defeated Joondalup 40-12 and the women also had a bye.
