Summary: Second in minor premiership, finalist. Perth-Bayswater provided the most exciting attacking rugby in the competition -- the second round game against Nedlands was one of the most thrilling of the eighties -- but again struggled to compete in the forwards. Perth again showed inconsistency with a second-half collapse in the preliminary final against Cottesloe and finished on a disappointing note in an otherwise very successful year. At least flanker Dave 'Dog' Brown won the PG Hampshire Cup for State Best and Fairest.
